How to write a Matrimonial Biodata

A matrimonial biodata is essential while we seek for good alliance. When we prepare our biodata we should enclose our whole details with that. That would help us to find out a suitable partner. A matrimonial biodata must have the details such as personal details, contact details, horoscope details, etc. It is also essential to attach your photographs with this.
The personal information involves the following
*Full Name. The name as it seems in your passport or driver’s license .Dont use nickname. You should correctly give your first name, middle name and last name.
*Marital Status. It is very important thing to write about, that is you are single, separated or divorced(with or without children).
* Date of birth/Time of birth. If you are not believe in horoscope ,you can avoid time of birth.
*Birth locality
*your height(in feet or inches)
*You can mention your weight in Kilograms or Pounds and in units too. The use of Pound is more better if intended audience is in the U.S. It is better using Kilograms if in India or Europe. Commonly we can see people put  their body type as slim,  athletic, average, or  heavy. If you feel  your body state not involved in above stated categories you can hide it from your bio-data.
*Your complexion.  People used to give their physical complexion  as  whitish, dark, fair and medium complexion in the category where we mention our body color..It is good to attach a picture of yours will help you to easily perceived by the senses or grasped by the mind
*In habits category, you can specify if you have the habit of smoking or drinking.Likewise you can also mention that you are vegetarian or non-vegetarian or eggetarian.

*. Educational Qualification. Mention all of your degrees like Bachelors, Masters, etc and where you got them. Don't list all of the colleges you went to, just the one where you received your degree from. Please don't include your grades here. I personally don't like to see awards received.

*. Your current work place, establishment and your designation.

*. Annual Income. You can give this if you wish to reveal.

*. Caste:When writing about caste, you can mention your religion, full caste and subcaste.
Which usually is take out, unless your powerful admirer might descend outside of your religion.for eg  Jain,Sikh,Buddha,Hindu, etc.

*. Disabilities: If you don’t have any disabilities or handicape, it is not necessary to involve this line in your biodata.

*. Hobbies: I'd only put this line if there is something significant you do like volunteer somewhere on a regular basis, play in a band, play an instrument, theater, etc. I laugh at the conjecture that something like surfing the internet, hanging out with friends and going out to restaurants is a real hobby. So please omit the Hobby section if that is the type of hobby you are adding.

*Family Details:
You can specify about your family members in your family details, About your father, ie his name, qualification, he is working or not, if he works what is his designation. Likewise about your mother, and your siblings. While write about brothers or sisters, don’t forget to mention that is they are married or unmarried ,working or studying. The will help you to give them to idea about your family members. If your siblings are married, specify also about their spouses. The other important thing in family details is the root of your family.ie From where your ancestors come and also notify that you belongs to a nuclear family or joint family. This will help you to express your family status.

*Contact Details:
Contact details must involve your land phone number, mobile phone number, residential address and your email address, so you can be contacted.

*Horoscope Details:
If you strongly believe in horoscope you can involve that too. These details needed only for matching and most of your suitors believe in it. It must contain the details like Remaining dasa, Gothram like Kousigam, Garga etc, Star like Magam, Poosam etc Raasi and Navamsam squares.Only these details are needed for matching and most of your suitors believe in it

*Photograph of Yourself:
Your photograph should be how you exactly look like. Your upper torso picture is good. Do not expose overly modern  or overly conservative. Avoid taking pictures in awkward poses.
For Guys: Picture of you dressed in a Suit/tie, Nice Shirt (no Hawaiian shirts) and pant.Avoid using sunglass ,because we can learn a lot looking others eyes. The person whom you going to see also likes to see your eyes. For Girls: Picture of you dressed in Salwaar-suit, regular sari (I wouldn't recommend this for full shots since sari's add a few pounds to your figure) or a Casual top and jeans. (Very light makeup and minimal jewellery) It goes without saying but please don't have a revealing top or sari.
* No one will tell you this, but if the photograph looks 10 times better than you actually look in person, please don't attach it to your biodata. This is somewhat fraudulent and it will save you a lot of heartache, because these people will meet you in person someday. .

*Format of Biodata:
It is more good to keep hard copies of biodata.Which can distribute easily among our friends and family. The soft copy format is also good to bring everywhere most probably..You can make changes in  soft copy format if necessary. That will help you to make your biodata more impressive. Two things possible that is to get a PDF file or word document.Kindly avoid the formats like Microsoft Word docx newer version,Word perfect etc because these are not that's much familiar and user friendly.
